Kaleb had definite ideas of the kinds of images he wanted. We worked over two sessions to get the kinds of looks he had in mind.

Kaleb was a great subject, with creative ideas, which makes a shoot much more fun!

Kyle comes from a rural background and wanted pictures with a relaxed and decidedly rural look...

Kyle's laid-back personality comes through in these pictures.

Kyle also pulls off a rather GQ look quite effortlessly!

Zoey

Some images from Zoey's Senior Shoot. Zoey wanted outdoor photos so we went to the local state park and some other rural locations for a variety of looks.

Zoey was a fun and creative subject, this shoot was a lot of fun and we got the images that Zoey was looking for.

I passed through Peru Indiana for the funeral of a friend, and saw this sign. CLASSIC small town signage!

While I was convalescing from surgery, I sat on the porch and waited for hummingbirds to visit the feeder, and got these shots. The one with the male ruby-throated on the shepard's hook, I loved his expression, he looked over his shoulder like "huh?"

I like skulls... when one crosses my path, I place it on the east facing side of the garage... Dating way back... Native Americans will face the skulls to the East as a final show of respect to an animal they had either killed, or found dead.... this is an extension of this practice.

The Positive Side of Ice...

One positive aspect of an ice storm... is that is makes us take notice of the beautiful intricacies of our world... everything looks BEAUTIFUL!

We had quite an icestorm, and while it is certainly deadly and dangerous, it is also quite beautiful!

Cranes at Sunset

We went to see the Sandhill cranes at Jasper-Pulaski Fish & Wildlife Area on November 1st. There was a beautiful sunset, and the cranes were amazing as always!

Just Standing There...

Okay so I was walking at one of my favorite places, Burnett's Creek...

And I encountered this ginormous FOOT, cleverly disguised as a tree!

Looks like an elephants foot (with a few too many toes, but hey work with me, willya?)

Everyone's favorite pachyderm - Yumbo! She just stands so still, you might not notice her... at first.

Did you ever see a sunset that was just so perfectly beautiful you wanted to cry or shout or something? A song I like by Holly Near, has a line that says "give me a sunset, to hold my wonder..."

The Lady Tree

Last Saturday, we went to a rabbit show in Peru Indiana, and there was this incredibly awesome tree. I dubbed her the lady tree, for obvious reasons. Check out those swirls and folds, oh my!

More Good Karma

We have an osprey hangin around our farm. I really think she is here to have conversations with Jen. There are several large ponds and a lake quite close. We hear her call, and have seen her both perched and in flight. I happened to catch her last evening with a fish in her talons. It is always good to have the bird spirits around!

This is a picture of a barn swallow's nest in our barn. You can see the babies in the nest on the upper left edge of the nest. But the way cool thing is, that they built a hawk's feather into the nest, now that is some powerful karma!

I took this picture of a moth in our barn 2 nights ago…

It is a male Polyphemus Moth, in the picture he is sitting on Jen’s hand (if you know me, you know Jen)...

I think he is just beautiful, and their life cycle and use of the “eyes” on their wings, is really neat!

I have to admit that a part of me expects to see two teeny tiny oriental girls riding on his back LOL!
